From page 8: “…mathematics to some extent has actually provided the pathway into engineering for young women. The debates now—outside of unfounded suggestions that women lack quantitative skills—are usually about how to improve mathematics preparation prior to college.”
From page 21: “Mannino and Deutsch (2007) showed that the division of child care was not related to women’s earning more money, hours of work, or liberal views about gender. But women who were more assertive were more likely to be closer to their ideal division of child care than those who were not assertive.
