NSF Seeks Nominations for 2009 Alan T. Waterman Award
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Alan T. Waterman Award, an annual award which recognizes the talent, creativity and influence of a singular young researcher. The Waterman Award established in 1975, is NSF's highest honor for researchers under the age of 35.
Qualifications: A candidate, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must be 35 year of age or younger or not more than seven years beyond receipt of a Ph.D. degree by December 31st of the year in which they are nominated. Candidates should have demonstrated exceptional individual achievements in scientific or engineering research of sufficient quality to place them at the forefront of their peers. Criteria include originality, innovation and significant impact on the field.
Complete nomination packages, consisting of nominations and four letters of reference, are due by December 5th, 2008.

These awards are among the highest awards in the nation given annually to scientists, engineers, and technologists.
