SWEeter Futures online screengrab

SWEeter Futures is a unique online portal that tracks our individual and collective impact on the future of engineering. As volunteers, we can now pinpoint – and in turn be rewarded for – our ability to make engineering an exciting, viable career choice for  K-12 students.

Ask yourself: "how much outreach do we as a Society do and how well do we do it?" To this point we have not been able to precisely answer this question.  For the first time, SWEeter Futures will help provide the answer. We are asking those in charge of outreach to enter every event into SWEeter Futures, and we are asking volunteers to track their outreach hours.

Every hour you spend planning or doing outreach will help demonstrate the impact of SWE's outreach, help improve the work we do, share best practices and raise money.

Through this reporting, SWE will be able to publicly recognize our outstanding contributors in outreach at the individual and section levels with honors, awards and even grants.

SWEeter Futures was started in Region B by Kerrie Greenfelder to demonstrate the impact of SWE's outreach. This program was extremely successful and has prompted this SWE-wide adoption.
