Wentworth Institute of Technology is proud to host the 2015 Society of Women Engineers Region F Conference February 27 through March 1. This conference hosts approximately 400 engineering students and professionals from across our region, which includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, and western New York. This year’s conference theme is “SWE are the future.” Workshops and speakers will focus on sustainability, creativity, and preparing oneself to be successful in the engineering profession. Conference activities include keynote speakers, workshops, networking lunches, company tours, and a career fair.

UK Engineering Day K-12 Outreach
The Bluegrass section has participated in the University of Kentucky's College of Engineering Engineers Day for over a decade. We team up with the Bluegrass section of SHPE to demonstrate a total of 4 hands-on activities for kids of all ages (from 2-99!) to enjoy. Participants are given a passport, and once they get a stamp from each station, they get to choose a prize. This annual event draws around 1000 participants every year.

SWE Corporate Roundtable - NETHERLANDS International
The Society is delighted to host the SWE Corporate Roundtable Discussion as a way to share information about the SWE, learn more about specific in-country needs and gather ideas for future local SWE activities.You are receiving an invitation to attend this roundtable discussion because your company is a member of the SWE's Corporate Partnership Council (CPC) in the USA, your company employs engineers, or you are an engineer working in the field.

The agenda will be as follows:
*Overview of Society of Women Engineers: A global perspective of programs and services, including new international initiatives for SWE members and women engineers. The role SWE can play as a forum to bring local employers together to work on gender diversity issues for women in engineering and technology.
*Discussion of the following topics: (1) The needs of women engineers in-country and how SWE programs may need to be localized to meet these needs. (2) How in-country corporations can assist SWE in meeting the needs of current and future women engineers.
*Planning for 2015 and beyond: What events or activities are most appropriate for SWE to host in-country, in partnership with corporate sponsors.How to get involved in SWE's inagural Europe Conference to be held in May 2015.

The SWE Corporate Roundtable Discussion will be hosted at the Royal Institute of Engineers in the Hague, Netherlands from 9:00am - 12:30pm on Tuesday, 3rd March. A light lunch will be served.

SWE Professional Development Workshop - Effective Communication Professional Development
Since 93% of communication is nonverbal and people usually only recall 50% of what they just heard, we all need to be the best communicators we can be. This module discusses and practices the difference between ineffective and effective communication skills. It provides resources on all aspects of communication from interpersonal, to body language, to electronic messaging.

SWE Canada: Value to Networks & Mentors International
The Society of Women Engineers will host a workshop on the value of networks and mentors for university students and professionals in Toronto, Canada on 28th March 2015

University students will participate in a "Build you Network" workshop from 9:00-11:30am. Attendees from the workshop will have the opportunity to join SWE members working across all fields of engineering and technology for a networking brunch from 11:30 - 13:00 The workshop will conclude with everyone (professionals and university students) participating in a Plenary Panel discussion on choosing the right mentor from 13:00-14:00

Night at the Museum K-12 Outreach
This will be an evening at the Leonardo in Salt Lake City, UT for 7th grade girls in the surrounding area to rotate through fun STEM workshops in a hands-on learning environment. Workshops will include Kalimba, Electronic Matching Game, Pizza Production Line, and Liquid Nitrogen Icecream!
