People make individual donations for a variety of personal reasons.  Most often they give to organizations that represent them, their ideas, and beliefs.  At SWE we are fortunate to have a community that encourages girls to dream and women to succeed in engineering and technology.  Throughout your involvement with SWE you have and will continue to make friends, meet mentors, and encourage the next generation to pursue their dreams.  Why not donate to SWE in recognition of all that SWE has and will provide you.  As a community of innovators, charged with shepherding the future of our global society, it just makes sense to contribute to growing this community.

Our $60 for SWE’s 60th Campaign is one opportunity to give to SWE.  We hope that you will join us in celebrating our first six decades of success through this campaign.  This is an opportunity to make an anniversary gift in recognition of all that SWE has and will provide you.

Your donation will have immediate impact and long lasting effects on the work SWE continues to do in the areas of outreach, public policy and professional development.  We encourage you to spread the word to your friends and colleagues - the more we come together, the stronger we will be!  Donate, learn more about individual giving, and the impact your gift will make at www.swe.org/individual.

Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.  -John Dewey

For many students, this time of the year marks a return to school. Invariably there are first day jitters as students ramp up for the school year. In the spirit of returning to school we have slated a few webinars for the Fall. As the year progresses, we’ll continue to work on developing Webinars to be offered throughout the year at no cost to SWE members. The upcoming topics range from leadership development to negotiation to managing diverse teams. Our Webinar series this month focuses on values based leadership, which we think will be of interest to all those currently leading a team(s), or aspire to be team leader. Following this Webinar series, we will be hosting a Webcast on microinequities and micro-affirmations that explores the result of the “micro” messages that we send each day that can help or hinder inclusion efforts within our organization.

We encourage all SWE members to also take advantage of the 40 + webinars we have archived for replay. The Webinar archive is a great free resource for all members and partner organizations. The archive contains over 40+ webinars that can be accessed at any time. The Webinars range from how to talk with executives to effectively balancing life and work to better understanding your EQ. Make sure that you take advantage of this on-demand feature.
